The purpose of this article is to assist UKG Associates logging into their troon.io Single Sign On (SSO) account
Article Scope
This article covers accessing your UKG Local Guest Account (troon.io)
This does not cover Member, or Non UKG Local Guest Accounts.
How do I know what type of account I have?
UKG Local Guest Account – This is a Troon Technology Service (TTS) managed account that is created for all Troon (in UKG) Associates that do not have a Member Account as defined below. The format is [UKG User Name]@troon.io.
User name example: 12345678Doe@troon.io
Typical user persona: Property level associate including Servers, Guest Services, Caddie, etc.
Member Account – This is a TTS managed account with the format of [Name]@troon.io.
User name examples: jdoe@troon.io, john.doe@troon.io, j.doe@troon.io.
Typical user persona: Corporate Associate, property level leadership including General Manager, Director of Agronomy, Executive Chef, Director of Tennis, etc.
Non-UKG Local Guest Account - This is a TTS managed account that is created for a Troon system user that is not (and has never been) in UKG. The format is [number][name]@troon.io
User name example: 12345Doe@troon.io
Typical user persona: Non UKG International Associate, Transition User, etc.

First Time Accessing Your Account
As a new user you should have received a “welcome” email with information (user name and a temporary password) relevant to logging into your account. Please refer to that email when accessing your account for the first time.
1. Open your web browser and navigate to the following URL: https://apps.troon.com/
2. Type in the Sign in / User name provided in your welcome email and click “next”
3. Type in the password provided in your welcome email and click "sign in”
4. Update your password
5. Type in your current password and set your own unique password and click “sign In”
Current password: retype the password provided in the welcome letter
New password: type in your own new unique password for your account
Confirm password: re type in your own new unique password to confirm your account
Your new password must meet the following minimum standards:
- 8 characters (minimum)
- 1 lowercase character (a - z)
- 1 uppercase letter (A - Z)
- 1 number (0 – 9)
- 1 special character ( ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ - + = { } [ ] : ” ; ’ < > , . / ? )
Please save your password in a secure way.
6. On the “Lets keep your account secure” page click “Next”
7. You will receive the message “Success”. You can click “Done” to get you to your troon.io account my apps page.
8. From your “my apps” page your can get to all your Troon account resources.
9. Click on UKG SSO tile to access your UKG account.
Update your UKG App Login
Once you have completed the steps above to enable your troon.io account you will need to update your UKG Pro App to utilize your new SSO credentials.
You must complete the steps above under “first time accessing your account”.
1. Open the UKG App
2. If it automatically signed you in please select Menu > and “Sign Out”
3. From the “welcome” page select “Sign in with Password”
4. Choose “Sign in with SSO”
5. Follow the prompts an log in using your new troon.io login credentials created above
Troubleshooting
I did not receive a “welcome email” with my user name and password
Please check your spam. Still don’t have it? No Problem. Please work with your supervisor and follow these steps:
1. Have your supervisor log into UKG and validate your email “primary email” address in UKG
a. If it is a correct email address that is unique to you (not shared) and you have access to it, then you can proceed.
b. If it is not correct, or it is not unique have your supervisor (or a UKG administrator at your club) update your Primary email address in UKG to a valid address that is unique to you that you have access to, and wait 24 business hours prior to proceeding.
2. Follow the steps in the document entitled “Associates Guide to Resetting Your troon.io Account Password with SSPR”
I don’t know my user name
You navigate to apps.troon.com, type in your user name, click “Next” and receive the following message:
This username may be incorrect. Make sure you typed it correctly. Otherwise, contact your admin.
Solution:
1. Refer to your welcome email to ensure you typed your user name correctly
2. If you do not have a welcome email, and your email address is valid use the format [UKG Username]@troon.io, or [employee number][last name]@troon.io
Example: 12345678Doe@troon.io
3. If your UKG username contains spaces or special characters, please remove those from your troon.io account name.
Examples
i. if your UKG username is 12345678Doe-Smith, your troon.io account is 12345678DoeSmith@troon.io (hyphen removed)
ii. if your UKG username is 12345678Doe Smith, your troon.io account is 12345678DoeSmith@troon.io (hyphen removed)
Reach out to your supervisor to see if they can determine your user name.
If this still fails you will need to contact the Troon Centralized Service Desk at 888-Troon50 (888-876-6650) for assistance.
I can get onto my apps, but when I try and log into UKG It fails with the following message:
This account has access to UKG Pro Direct Login. Direct Login allows you to …
Problem: User has never logged into UKG Pro Direct Login
Solution: Log into UKG Pro Direct login
1. Browser: https://n35.ultipro.com/
1. Log into UKG Pro using your UKG Pro User Name and default password
a. Username: 12345678Doe
b. Password: Date of birth in the format MMDDYYYY. If your birthday is January 1, 1980 the password in 01011980
c. Follow the instructions to set your own unique password (you will not need to retail this since you will use your troon.io account moving forward)
Once you have logged into UKG for the first time with Direct login you can try the My Apps UKG SSO tile again
If it still does not work….
I can get onto my apps, but when I try and log into UKG It fails with the following message:
User name/password combination is incorrect, or account is inactive
Problem: Your UKG account is in a “locked out” state
Solution: Try logging into your account via direct login
1. Contact Centralized Service Desk and ask them to “reset your UKG account to default”
2. Browser: https://n35.ultipro.com/
3. Log into UKG Pro using your UKG Pro User Name and default password
a. Username: 12345678Doe
b. Password: Date of birth in the format MMDDYYYY. If your birthday is January 1, 1980 the password in 01011980
c. Follow the instructions to set your own unique password (you will not need to retain this since you will use your troon.io account moving forward)
4. Once you have logged into UKG for the first time with Direct login you can try the apps.troon.com My Apps UKG SSO tile again
I get an error clocking in via UKG Quick Time Stamp (QTS)
When trying to clock in via QTS using SSO I receive the following error message
We are unable to complete your request at the moment. Please contact your system administrator
Problem: Your UKG account is in a “locked out” state
Solution: Please see the solution above for addressing “I can get onto my apps, but when I try and log into UKG It fails with the following message”
